Are you lonely?

“Aloneness doesn’t have to mean loneliness; it can actually be the path God uses for my soul to find its rest in Him."

The Gospel Coalition Blog posted this today. It will be helpful for anyone who has struggled or is struggling with loneliness. As a single, this was a good reminder for me that marriage isn't ever going to be what fills any measure of emptiness that I might feel. Only God can fill and satisfy.

Lonely Me: A Pastoral Perspective

  1. Thanks for posting this! It's been a lonely couple of days for me and this was so very appropriate!! It can defintely be lonely here on the field as we don't have friends here, we are far from friends and family at home and often truthfully just feel like we can't get our act together...changing lonliness to solitude, I love it! Not that there is much time for prayerful solitude but a good reminder that there is a purpose to our feelings of lonliness! And a time for it too!!

  2. Thanks for your comment. :-) It encourages me when I find that my posts have been used to encourage someone else. I'll have to remember to be praying more for you and your family. My mom does well at keeping up with reading your blog. I am now subscribed. :-D I can't imagine how hard it would be to be across the country away from family and what is comfortable and familiar. How awesome to know that God uses moments such as that to strengthen our relationship with Him as we need Him and have fewer distractions between ourselves and Him!
