All I Have Is Christ

"Whom have I in heaven but you? And there is nothing on earth that I desire besides you. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever." Psalm 73:25-26

We sang this song during our worship today in church. The lyrics are beautiful. Please take the time to listen to this video, and may the words be your prayer as well!

“All I Have Is Christ”
By Jordan Kauflin

I once was lost in darkest night
Yet thought I knew the way.
The sin that promised joy and life
Had led me to the grave.
I had no hope that You would own
A rebel to Your will.
And if You had not loved me first
I would refuse You still.

But as I ran my hell-bound race
Indifferent to the cost
You looked upon my helpless state
And led me to the cross.
And I beheld God’s love displayed
You suffered in my place
You bore the wrath reserved for me
Now all I know is grace.

Hallelujah! All I have is Christ
Hallelujah! Jesus is my life

Now, Lord, I would be Yours alone
And live so all might see
The strength to follow Your commands
Could never come from me.
Oh Father, use my ransomed life
In any way You choose.
And let my song forever be
My only boast is You.

Hallelujah! All I have is Christ
Hallelujah! Jesus is my life

  1. I think those are some of the most powerful lyrics I've ever read. Singing the line "And if You had not loved me first I would refuse You still." has been overwhelming for me all weekend. It's one of those things you know, but singing it causes you to stop and chew on the reality and significance of that.

  2. Yes, for me singing this song really got me to thinking, "Do I really mean this? Is Jesus really my life?" And I found myself so much wanting it to be true because the rest of the song sure is true about God rescuing me out of my hell-bound race and leading me to the cross and redeeming me!
